Dress Up Games and Fashion Shows

Fashion shows are dressup games at their very finest. Some of the many games online include virtual fashion shows, but you can have even more fun creating your own version of a fashion show - especially if you have friends over or a sister or two to play along.
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

Start with the Dressup Games

You can not have a fashion show without something new and exciting to wear. Dig through your dress up clothing in your play room and then go through your closet, bags your friends brought and perhaps your mom's closet to find fun items to wear for the event. Plan out your fashions ahead of time and look for all of the accessories and detail you will need to make it a success.
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

Hair and Make Up for Dressup Games and Fashion Shows

Your next step is to get your hair and make up finished for the big show. Of course, this means that you will be doing each other's hair and applying make up. If you are working with plenty of time to spare, perhaps at a sleepover, go wild with hot curlers and flat irons to make this a truly special event. Apply make up like the stars do with much glam and glitter. After all, you have to shine up on the stage.
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

Preparing for the Fashion Show

Speaking of stages, you will want to be sure that you have a stage to walk down as part of the show. You can set one up using tape or yardsticks down the center of a room. If you have a long hallway in your home, you are in even better luck. The stairs might also be an option, but be careful walking on stairs if you are wearing shoes you are not very comfortable in. It is probably better to walk the "catwalk" in the living room or wherever everyone is most comfortable.
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

When it is time to actually start the show, someone should turn on the music and the fashion show begins. The first person marches down the catwalk in their stylish dressup games outfit and then she is followed by the next individual. You take turns walking down the runway with your various outfits on until you have run out of things to wear.

You will need to change fashions quickly just like a real fashion show and do as much as you can to make the entire event seem real. Pretend there is an audience ready to review your walk and your style. Perhaps one person can even be the designer and dress everyone. You will want to take turns with this role, of course, to give all party guests a chance to be in charge of the dressup games.

Some Tips for a School Fashion Show

School fashion shows can be quite fun if done properly. If done the wrong way, however, it could end up being one boring affair which is only occasionally enlivened by the people laughing at a humiliated model. What you need are some tips to help you.
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

1) Think of a theme - When putting up a school fashion show, it is always helpful if you use a theme. A theme gives a fashion show a sense of organization and people would be able to relate the fashion to the theme. There are various types of themes to choose from:
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

a) Season - Basing your school fashion show on the season is always popular. You could design and model various outfits that correspond with the time of year. This would also give you an idea of how to decorate the venue. Basing your school fashion show on a season can help you unleash your creativity and make your brain cells work. How can you balance the freedom of creativity with the confinement of the theme? This will definitely help you improve your skills.
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

b) Literature - Another great idea for a theme is literature. You should think about basing your school fashion show on a great piece of literature. How about basing it on the book The Great Gatsby? Ever tried creating fashion pieces for Frodo? This can be fun as you will be bringing the visions of authors to life. Basing your school fashion show on a piece of literature can also be a bit easier than other themes since most authors actually have pretty detailed descriptions of the clothes their character wear. This is especially true for fantasy novels. Cloaks, anyone?
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

2) Music - The music sets the mood for the whole fashion show. It strikes the subconscious of the watchers and thus, determines how much attention they will be paying your school fashion show. This means, of course, that you need to choose the correct sounds to accompany your school fashion show.

You need to choose music that grabs the attention of the spectators enough to mesmerize them. However, you do not want the music to distract the spectators from the school fashion show. The best type of music to use would be instrumental. This is because instrumental music can set the mood for the show without distracting the viewers with familiar lyrics.

3) Lighting - Proper lighting effects are always essential if you want to have a great school fashion show. Together with the background music, the lighting effects give the audience a general emotion to feel. How do you want them to react when they see a certain ensemble? You can make them react as you want them by simply combining light and sound.

4) Spontaneity - Students hate predictability. Because of this, the best thing that your school fashion show could have is a surprise. You need to show your students something unexpected and completely new. In doing so, you will be able to grab their attentions and keep it. By being spontaneous, you will keep spectators guessing as to what will come next. This will keep their eyes on the school fashion show and off their watches and mobile phones. If you can make the audience forget about the gadgets on their pockets, then you would know that your school fashion show rocks!

The Fashion Show of Peter Som

The whole show of Peter Som was full of aftertaste design and cheerful atmosphere that let people see the ice lolly, postcards, mimosa and the shadow. In the background, the designer talked about the ideas that gave him special inspiration. They were Miami Beach, the famous collector Peggy Guggenhiem and optical art.
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

He said, "I hope that I can bring happiness to the clothes. For me, this is complete meaning of fashion." There are indeed some reasons that Some can feel happy. Last year's major economic crisis did not unduly affect his business. The clothes on the stage were still showing a strong sense of excitement.
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

Som loves to mix the printing patterns together with different colors and materials. Sometimes, these combinations may be even all included in one garment. For example, he designed a grey knitted sweater that was mixed with a brown bulk coat. In addition to use the high enchanting marble texture, the postcard printing patterns and soft flower satin, the simple T-shirt and the variable short skirts are shown over and over again in this bright colors cycle.
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

These are all showing that while this brand is popular with the city woman, it begins to be loved by normal people. The bright shirts have a strong contrast neckline. The dresses are in somewhat like the old apron. The short pants are just to the thigh high. The model looks really tall as the hills of Mary Jane shoes are high, which is designed by Charlotte Olympia. These shoes will be loved by many fashion fans. Generally speaking, the future is clearer than 18 months ago to Som. At least he does not need to worry about his design.

Organize Your Closet - Spring Fashion Show

Spring is a good time to treat yourself to a fashion show.

To begin, ask yourself whether you still have clothes you wore 20 years ago? Matching bridesmaid dresses and shoes, maybe in multiples, in direct relation to the number of times you were bridesmaid?

Eliminate Extra Sizes

What about keeping several size ranges of clothes because you're going to lose weight to fit into them again? The larger sizes, especially, are temptation. It's too easy to allow ourselves to move up into a larger size if the clothes are there.

And, once you fit into the smallest size you have, you may decide you don't like them any more. That happened to me-I carried a box of clothes around with me for years until I fit into them again, then when they did fit, I ended up giving them away. The styles and colours looked awful on me!

Prime Real Estate:

A closet is prime real estate in your home. Don't waste it by storing clothing that you don't wear. An organized closet will help you get ready for your day more quickly and you will know you always look your best.

The first step to this involves sorting what you have in that stuffed closet.
1. Remove everything from your closet and try on each item with the accessories you wear with it.
2. Hold your own fashion show, try combining items that you usually haven't worn together-they might give you more combination options in the future.
3. If the outfit doesn't fit, if you don't like the colour any more, if the colour doesn't like you any more, or if it doesn't suit your lifestyle, put it aside.
4. If the item needs fixing or cleaning, put it aside to have that done.
5. If it looks great on you, you feel wonderful in it and it's ready to wear, hang it back in your closet.

Be sure to have bags handy to hold the cleaning, repairs and donations. The cleaning and repairs can be taken to the appropriate places right away. What remains will be ready to wear.
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

Party Time
Once you've removed all the items from your closet that you don't intend to wear again, invite your friends over with their cast-offs. Host a fashion show, or a closet party with the items in your donation bag and theirs. Enjoy a girls' evening with appropriate refreshment, entertainment and lots of laughter.

The evening's agenda could go something like this:
1. Try on each other's clothes, accessories, etc to fill in the gaps in your wardrobe.
2. Throw conservatism aside to benefit from your friends' talents for colour and accessory combination if they're different from yours.
3. Take the remainder to the charity of your choice. Remember, your goal is to clear out once, not several times dealing with the same clothes.
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

After The Party:

Reward yourself when done. Watch for sales to stretch your best wardrobe and enjoy more use from the items you kept. Never bring anything into your home without getting rid of something. And never buy anything that doesn't go with something you already have. That's a waste of money.

Another thought-we wear 20 per cent of our clothes 80 per cent of the time. That's most of our closet filled with clothes we rarely wear. Is it worth having a closet crammed with items that are never worn?
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

In Future:

To help with next season's purge. Turn all the hangers the opposite way on the closet rod. After you've tried on or worn an outfit, hang it back the normal way. By doing this, you will always know what you wear often and what you don't.
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

Being organized about your closet means having your clothes clean, in good repair and ready to wear, without needing ironing when they come out of the closet. It's a time saver too, knowing that everything is ready to wear whenever you need it. And, you'll always look your best.

Best Fashion Show Photography

Photographing a fashion show is a lot of fun but there are steps to follow before you get on the riser and join the rest of the press photographers.

First and foremost, you want to make sure you've identified the event, and by this I mean research as to what typically takes place at the event you will be covering. Perhaps a place to start is the event's website. Images from previous events host by the same title in previous years or events hosted by the same production company. This will help you formulate an idea for how things will go that day. Needless to say, there are times where all preparation goes down the drain and you must improvise on the spot.
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

Once you've gathered as much information about the event and, if you are lucky, have gotten some glances as to what is to come you may want to start selecting the gear you will be using for the event. This will take multiple determining factors such as lighting, distance, speed, and post production needs.
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

It is typical that Fashion Shows are at night, yet their main purpose is to showcase a line of clothes. Most of the time designers choose a very well lit venue or location to showcase their garments and "most of the time" there is no need for an added flash. A hot shoe flash unit is helpful for the coverage of the event where the models are getting ready (make up and dressing up, etc.).
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

Be sure that if time is permitted to cover the "getting ready" portion of the event you have allotted enough time to return and secure a favorable spot on the riser. There are times where the space on the Press/Media riser is limited and overload of photographers or cameramen are forced to move to less desirable areas where direct sight is limited or impossible.
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

On the riser space, once again, is limited and most people that secure a spot are strong about protecting their territory. Be respectful and courteous to others line of sight.

For fashion shows it is important to achieve the best "white balance" possible. If a fashion show is coordinated by a seasoned production company, there will be a press conference where designers will meet and greet the press. This segment wasn't just designed to meet and greet the designers but also to make sure lighting scenarios are tested and a "while balance card" is displayed for photographers to adjust their gear accordingly.

We Need A Little Christmas

This is the first year in my house that I got to decorate for
Christmas and I was so excited! I made Kylie an advent
calendar and put the tree up even before Thanksgiving.
I went with a silver white and gold theme this year. Most
of our ornaments on the tree were hand painted or completely
home-made. I think its better that way. Then theres always
memories on the tree. Kylie and I want to make at least one
new ornament every year from now on. Soon it will be filled
like the one at my parents house almost falling over with the
weight of 20 years of ornaments on it.
I also hand painted my own wrapping paper with little sayings.
Personal touches always make gifts more special. How have you
decorated for Christmas? Any special traditions? Hope you enjoyed
      the peek into my home!

Casting Calls for Models - Integral Part of Fashion Shows

A fashion show is conducted in order to showcase the newest collection of clothes being offered by the fashion designers. This enables the audience to know the latest trends and designs that is in the fashion industry. Certain range of clothes is purely for fashion while some others are targeted for comfort and convenience. The fashion designers will exhibit clothes based on a particular theme and these dresses are worn by the models that could carry well these collection of clothes in the most appealing manner.
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/
Integral Part of Fashion Shows 1
For any fashion show the designer would go in for casting calls for model as that is the most significant part of any fashion event. The designer would either first select the models or then design the clothes based on the model's standing and physical attributes and their features. Such shows may be mainly to promote the model rather than the clothes. Fashion shows are important platform for the fresh talent as it gives a great exposure that will help them in fetching better offers from the industry experts.
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/
Integral Part of Fashion Shows 2
In most other cases the designer would make a casting call for the models be it the exiting or fresh ones. Sometime certain designers will opt for their privileged models to be part of the show so that the popularity of the model itself will be a promotional tool for their clothes too. And in some cases the designer would go in for fresh faces. He might hunt for faces that are never seen before as that would give a totally newer look for their collection of clothes. The fresh models would be waiting for such casting call that will help them create a niche in the industry for themselves.
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/
Integral Part of Fashion Shows 3
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/
Integral Part of Fashion Shows 4

Every designer would want a model that will be able to adorn their clothes range and carry well in them to make the audience attracted towards it. The right attitude along with the right looks is all that is needed to steal the show. The models would be professionally trained to bring about variety in their looks and attitude. The dress must blend with the right attitude and only them it will reach the customers in the appealing manner. Looking at the models the audience decide about the dress. If the model looks clumsy then the dress is also judged the same way though in fact the dress might be truly magnificent if not for the wrong model choice.

Virtual Fashion Shows - Revolutionising the Fashion World

These days, with the ever-dynamic fashion industry spreading its grasp globally, there are many fashion designers that are being encouraged to come up and showcase their work among the audiences, thanks to the tremendous scope this sector has presented. However, not all aspirants in this industry are capable of hosting fashion shows to attract the attention of the media and big fashion houses. It is for such kind of people that virtual fashion shows have evolved as a concept.
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

With the evolution of technology, the internet has touched our lives in more ways than one. Slowly entering into every sphere of our lives, it has shown us how simple things can be with a little smartness in everything. There have been many great and innovative ideas that have revolutionised industries at the click of a button, and quite literally at that!
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

With virtual fashion shows too, the internet has proven once again how it is an indispensable part of our lives. Just imagine, a fashion designer can showcase his/her entire collection by just uploading pictures of his/her creations on websites giving this provision, and can send the link to all the people he/she knows in the fashion industry to comment as well as spread it further to their connections. Think of it as a pseudo-social network of the fashion industry.
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

By hosting such virtual fashion shows, not only can one save a lot on the risky monetary investment part of organising a real fashion show, but can also improve its reach exponentially, since the internet is everywhere. Further, while a real fashion show might just run for a day or two, a virtual one will be available on the internet forever. So all you aspiring fashion designers now have a very cost effective, or let's make that ZERO cost, means to showcase your talent and get instant recognition.

Men's Magic Fashion Show - What Happens In Vegas, Stays In Vegas

Who, What, Where?

February 14th of 2011 wasn't just for Valentine's day this year, but for fashion, too-the "Magic" fashion show at the Convention Center in Vegas started from February 14th and lasted until the 16th. Fashion shows are always thought of a glamorous event, mostly for women. Honestly, the only men's fashion shows are stereotypically more for the brands names than the customers, unless you count celebrities. The Average Joe has no need for a fashion show, right? That's what Magic is here for
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/
Magical Magic

Magic is international fashion; for the broadest spectrum of designs, designers, and forms of fashion-from coats to shoes-on an international, industrial level, think of Magic, because it's Magic that host buyers as well as sellers from across the world for not just women's fashion, but men's and even children's to boot. This year in Vegas, the fashion show revolves around nine "boutiques" to showcase all of fashion to include accessories as well as apparel: STREET Unlimited, FN PLATFORM, PREMIUM, S.L.A.T.E., POOLTRADESHOW, SOURCING, WWDMAGIC, and of course MENSWEAR.

http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/
Vegas 2011

The Vegas 2011 Magic show is meant for everyone, which is important for men-we men don't often have a reason, or get a chance to have a reason, to go to a fancy-shmancy fashion show, because, again, it's often for high end female celebs. The Magic show in Vegas this year is targeting a large spectrum of fashion, and so businesses are even encouraged to come, like textile technology importers and exporters, general garment manufacturers, embroiderers, and businesses revolving around accessories, textile materials, trimmings, and laundries. Don't forget, the general public-including men-are also targeted, so fellas, enjoy.
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/
Men's Fashion

Talk is cheap-is the international show in Vegas of 2011 really for men? Sure, and here's some proof-shoes. In one of the previews given to the public via blogs is a sneak peek into the upcoming shoe collection meant just for men, with brands ranging from Puma, a more Everyman kind of a brand, to Lacoste, a brand for the more accomplished men with just as much extra spending money as an eye for style.

Shoes were actually so highly anticipated as a theme to men's fashion that the entire first day of the Vegas fashion show was, you guess it-shoes. What the 2011 Vegas Magic fashion show proved was two major things-sneaker hybrids are only gaining momentum and are here to stay, and boots are the biggest thing since the sneaker itself.

Behind the Scenes at a Fashion Show

Ever wondered what lies behind the glitz and glamor of a fashion show? If you watch fashion shows on TV, no doubt the grandeur and style of the whole event would have impressed you. If you were lucky enough to watch the action live, the atmosphere can be overwhelming. If putting together a fashion show looks easy then, it is all thanks to a hardworking, 24-hour event management team that is usually the brains and hands behind such a glamorous do.
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

Before the concept for a fashion show can be decided upon, the designer has to decide on the kind of collection he wants and then create an initial portfolio. Designers get inspired by anything and most of them weave the designs and patterns in their clothes around a single theme; for example, symmetric patterns with earth colors for an autumn collection. Whether the collection featured is going to be Ready to Wear or Haute Couture also needs to be finalized. Once the collection is ready, the next decision to make is where to feature the collection and when. Cities such as Paris, Milan and London have been called the world's fashion hotspots for many years. Most designers have their favorite places, depending where the bulk of their clientele comes from. Once the city is decided upon, setting up the stage and ramp for the event comes next. Location is of utmost importance- halls or stadiums which offer the latest in lighting and other facilities give creators the freedom to plan a great theme. For instance, chandeliers and other fancy lighting can help jazz up a room immensely.
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/
http://inggrisfashion.blogspot.com/

The theme often sets the tone for the collection and for the evening as well. What's a fashion show without music? The genre of music played can help bring out the best in the collection and set the tone for the evening. Those who can afford it even hire live singers or DJ's. Needless to say, the music changes with the mood of the collection and also for the intended clientele. Deciding on the models is next. Of late, a lot of designers venture to create fashion for 'real women', and so models who aren't exactly a size zero are quite common. Make up artists and hair stylists work tirelessly to create a new look or hairdo to match the clothes and style quotient. The guest list is important too. After all, no designer wants to miss out on inviting his best clients to his show. That's where the paparazzi and the media come in too. After all, more the media coverage, the better the exposure the designer and his collection gets. The front row is where you are most likely to see fashion editors and other style experts, jot down notes, shake their heads or just observe. Fashion shows of veteran designers like Valentino or Versace however, are bound to get a full house no matter how small or big the collection really is. Cocktails, a lavish buffet, live TV appearances and interviews are the preferred norm to end such a star studded event.
